Here Come the Unicorns Cake

YOU’LL NEED
6″ Round pan
Cooling grid
Creamy white decorator icing
Candy Melts candy – bright white, bright pink
Unicorn silicone mold
Tri-color decorator set
Cake icer tip
Decorating tip 2 (2 needed)
12″ Disposable decorating bags
16″ Disposable decorating bags
13″ Angled spatula
Icing smoother
5 piece Brush set
Turntable
Cake leveler
Gold color mist
Icing colors: rose*, pink & violet*
Gold sequins

You will also need
Plastic ruler
Paper towels
Small bowls

DIRECTIONS
Prepare Cake
1.Bake and cool three 6″ cake layers. Level, fill and stack cake for 6″ high. Crumb coat cake and chill one hour.

2.Fit a 16″ decorating bag with cake icer tip and white icing. Ice cake and smooth with icing smoother. Smooth top with angled spatula.

Make unicorn candies
You will need 24 unicorns and 7 horns. Melt a small amount of black candy in small bowl.

Use fine tip brush to paint eye marks in the mold. Let set.

Melt half a bag bright pink candy and place in decorating bag. Pipe mane, taking care not to cover other sections and not to fill in ear. Chill in refrigerator 10 minutes to set.

Melt half a bag bright white candy and place in decorating bag. Pipe candy in molds, filling only half full. Pipe candy into horns molds. Tap mold to smooth and chill to set about 5 minutes. Remove candy from mold.

Place horns on paper towel. Spray with gold Color Mist from 6″ away. Let set to dry and repeat until desired color is achieved. Spray Color Mist directly in a bowl. Use a fine tip brush and paint the horns of the unicorn candies.

Tint Icing
Tint 1 cup icing violet using color combination. Tint one cup each pink and rose using icing colors. Place violet icing in decorating bag with tip 2.

Decorate cake
Position unicorn candies on cake, securing with dots of icing if necessary. Use violet icing to pipe small hearts between candy. Position gold sequins randomly on cake sides. Assemble Tri-Color coupler with tip 1M, fill bags with violet, pink and rose icings. Pipe seven tall swirls around top of cake. Insert unicorn horns.

*Combine Violet and Rose for purple shown
