Show your love of hearts with these Pretty in Pink Heart Cookies.
INGREDIENTS
3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
Wilton Icing, White
Wilton Icing Color, Rose
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. In large bowl, beat together butter and sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Add melted chocolate and beat until smooth. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, beating until smooth. Divide dough in half and form into 2 discs. Cover and chill at least 1 hour or until firm.
- On lightly floured surface, roll out dough approximately 3/8-inch thick. Using heart cutter, cut out hearts.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet 2 minutes. Remove to cooling grid and cool completely.
- Using Rose icing color, tint part of the icing medium pink.
- Ice some cookies pink and some white, using photo as guide.
- Decorate cookies with sprinkles.
