Pink Strawberry Blossom Cookies

Makes 36 cookies

Show your friends and family that you love them ‘berry’ much by making a batch of these kiss blossom cookies. 

INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup butter or margarine softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon red food color

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/3 to 1/2 cup powdered sugar, granulated sugar, tinted sugar, sprinkles, nonpareils, or a combination

DIRECTIONS

1.Beat butter, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla, and food color in large bowl until well blended. Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended. If necessary, refrigerate dough 30 minutes or until dough is firm enough to handle.

2.Heat oven to 300 degrees. Remove wrappers from candies. Shape dough into 36 equal balls (about 1 1/4 inch each). Roll in powdered sugar, granulated sugar, tinted sugar, sprinkles, nonpareils, or a combination. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

3.Bake 12 to 14 minutes, or until edges are set.  Cool about 2 minutes; press candy piece into center of each cookie. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack; cool completely.
