Easy Lemon Bars

Makes 24 servings (12 bars)

Lemon fresh bars

INGREDIENTS

BASE INGREDIENTS
2 cups PILLSBURY BEST All Purpose Flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter

FILLING INGREDIENTS
4 large eggs, beaten
2 cups white sugar
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup PILLSBURY BEST All Purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

TOPPING INGREDIENTS
Valentine’s Candy Hearts (optional)
1/2 cup powdered sugar

DIRECTIONS

BASE DIRECTIONS

1.Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups PILLSBURY BEST All Purpose Flour, powdered sugar, and butter. Mix with hands until it clings together.

2.Press dough into a 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan.

3.Bake for 20 to25 minutes or until lightly browned.

FILLING DIRECTIONS
1.In a separate large bowl, beat eggs, sugar, and lemon juice until well-combined.

2.In a medium bowl, sift together flour and baking powder. Stir into egg mixture.

3.Remove base crust from oven and let cool. Pour filling over crust.

4.Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Allow the bars to cool completely at room temperature. Cut into squares. Place a candy heart on top of each square and lightly dust each bar with powdered sugar. Remove candy hearts and enjoy!
