Milk Carton Bird Feeder

Tweet, tweet! It’s time to repurpose a milk carton into an easy DIY bird feeder. Use it in the house with your own feathered friend, or outside to spread some cheer.

YOU’LL NEED

CRAYOLA Take Note Washable Gel Pens

CRAYOLA Paint Brush

Upcycled Carton

Hole Punch

Bird Seed

CRAYOLA Acrylic Paint

CRAYOLA Take Note Permanent Markers

Scissors

Twine

DIRECTIONS

1.On upcycled carton side, draw outline for an opening with gel pens.

2.Have an adult help cut out the opening.

3.Rotate carton once and draw outline for a wing-shaped flap. Cut along outline, leaving top of wing intact.

4.Rotate carton once and repeat steps 1–2.

5.Repeat step 3 to complete final side of carton.

6.Paint beak, wings, and bird body. Dry 1–2 hours and add second coat.

7.Paint eyes above beak. Dry 1–2 hours.

8.Draw pupils and details with markers.

9.Hole punch top of carton. Feed twine through hole and tie ends into a knot.

10.Pour bird seed into openings.

11.Hang outside (or keep indoors) to let your feathered friends fill their beaks and bellies!
