DIRECTIONS

1.To make a bunny, you will need two pom poms, a large one for the body and a smaller one for the head. First, cut two 10″ lengths of yarn and set them aside.

2.Make a large pom pom by wrapping the yarn around your hand 50 times. Gently slide the entire bundle of looped yarn off of your hand, keeping it as still as possible so that you do not disturb the loops.

3.Knot one 10″ piece of yarn as tightly as you can around the center of the bundle. The tighter you tie the knot, the fluffier your pom pom will be.

TIP: Make sure you tie the knot exactly between the looped ends, in order to make the pom pom completely round.

4.With scissors, cut open all the loops on both ends, but do not trim away the tied ends of the knot. Fluff your pom pom and trim the yarn ends to make the fur an even length all the way around.

5.For the bunny’s head, you will make a smaller pom pom. Repeat steps 2 to 4, but this time wrap the yarn 30 times around two fingers only.

6.Use the long ends from each pom pom to firmly tie the bunny’s head and body together.

7.CLICK HERE to print and cut out both ear templates.

8.Trace and cut two outer ears from brown felt and two inner ears from light pink felt.

9.Glue the inner ears on top of the outer ears. Add glue to the inside of one ear, along the bottom 1″, then pinch the sides together. This will gently bend the ear so that it’s rounded like a real bunny’s ear. Repeat for the second ear. Let glue dry.

10.Glue the bottoms of the ears (now pinched shut) to the top of the bunny’s head, pushing the fluffy yarn out of the way to insert the folded ends as deeply as possible.

11.Finally, add the bunny’s eyes, nose and tail. Glue two pony beads to the bunny’s face for eyes, a small pink pom pom underneath for the nose and a large white pom pom onto the back side of the larger pom pom; this will be the bunny’s tail. Let your bunny dry completely before taking it on any adventures.

TIP: ADULT: For faster gluing, you may prefer to use a hot glue gun.
