If you want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY with a splash, this craft lets wishes jumping out of the card!

YOU’LL NEED

CRAYOLA Construction Paper

CRAYOLA Markers

Hole Punch

CRAYOLA Scissors

CRAYOLA No-Run School Glue

Ribbon

DIRECTIONS

1.Fold white construction paper in half the long way. Open and cut on the fold using CRAYOLA Scissors. Later, you will glue one of these long, thin rectangles into your card for a pop-up surprise.

2.What kinds of words or pictures do you want to pop up inside your card? Does the birthday person have a hobby or favorite color? What about colorful balloons or a birthday cake with candles? Get creative and use CRAYOLA Markers to draw a birthday scene and message on one long rectangle. Flip the marker and apply the special color switcher to create magic with your message.

3.Trim along the top edges of your drawing. Fold the paper like an accordion. Make an odd number of folds, at least five. Punch holes in the bottom of each folded section. Try to line up the holes. Lace thin ribbon through the holes and tie.

5.Fold another whole sheet of white construction paper in half, then in half the opposite way. This is the outer part of your pop-up birthday card. Use CRAYOLA Markers to create a drawing and message on the front of your card.

6.With CRAYOLA School Glue, attach the first and last tabs of the accordion-folded art to the inside of your card. Some of the design could stick out the top if you like. Press the card closed, making sure that your inner art is folding correctly in the center.

7.Open the card to add designs or words. You will soon surprise someone!
