“Deck the skewers with festive fruit fun!”
These cheerful treats are a merry mix of color, shape, and holiday magic—perfect for a Christmas in July snack or a North Pole-themed party. Kids will love building their own mini “ornament” kabobs that sparkle like a string of lights!
🍓 Ingredients:
- Red grapes
- Green grapes
- Cantaloupe (cut into stars or snowflakes using small cookie cutters)
- Strawberries (hulled and halved)
- Mini marshmallows
- Kiwi slices
- Festive drink stirrers, lollipop sticks, or wooden skewers
- Optional: shredded coconut, white sprinkles or powdered sugar
❄️ Directions:
- Prepare the fruit – Wash and dry all fruit. Use small cookie cutters to shape cantaloupe into stars, snowflakes, or bells.
- Build your skewers – Let kids thread fruits onto the sticks in any pattern they like—grapes can look like ornaments, strawberries like Santa hats, and cantaloupe stars top it all off!
- Add a marshmallow “snowball” – Finish the skewer with a mini marshmallow on top or bottom. You can even roll the marshmallows into little “snowballs” or flatten large marshmallows and use a mini-star cookie cutter to cut out snowflakes.
- Serve chilled – Arrange on a platter and pop in the fridge until snack time. Just before serving sprinkle shredded coconut, white sprinkles or powdered sugar over the skewers for an extra winter-like scene!
🎁 Tip: Want to turn it into an activity? Set up a “build-your-own” fruit skewer station with bowls of pre-cut fruit, skewers, and a photo of Snowy the Mouse nearby for inspiration!
