Pecan Pie Bars

From MCCORMICK

Makes 24 bars

A holiday favorite dessert with all the flavors of pecan pie in an easy-to-make bar form. Great for cookie exchanges because you bake in just one pan, instead of multiple batches as you do for individual cookies.

INGREDIENTS

SPICED CRUST

2 1/2 cups flour

1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar

2 teaspoons MCCORMICK Ground Cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup (2 sticks) cold butter, cut into chunks

PECAN TOPPING

3 eggs

1 cup light corn syrup

1 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 tablespoon MCCORMICK All Natural Pure Vanilla Extract

2 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans

DIRECTIONS

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. For the Spiced Crust, mix flour, confectioners’ sugar, cinnamon, and salt in large bowl until well blended. Add butter; beat with electric mixer on medium speed until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press firmly into an even layer in foil-lined 13×9-inch baking pan.

2.Bake 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

3.For the Pecan Topping, mix eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, butter, and vanilla in large bowl until well blended. Stir in pecans. Pour over hot crust.

4.Bake 25 minutes longer, or until topping is slightly firm in the center. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.
