Mini Round Heart Cookies

Makes 3 dozen (3-inch) cookies

These little Valentine’s Day cookies are a sweet treat you’ll love to eat! Decorate them with red, white, and pink cookie icing and top with sprinkles and nonpareils!

INGREDIENTS

1 cup granulated sugar

1 egg

3 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon no-color almond extract

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup butter, softened

WILTON Nonpareils Sprinkles, White

WILTON Sugar Sprinkles, Pink

DIRECTIONS

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2.In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar with an electric stand mixer or hand mixer, until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and extracts.

3.Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition. Do not chill dough. Divide dough into 2 balls.

4.On a floured surface, roll each ball into a circle, approximately 12” diameter x 1/8” thick.

5.Dip the cookie cutter in flour before each use and cut out shapes.

6.Bake cookies on an ungreased baking sheet 8 to 11 minutes, or until cookies are lightly browned. Move cookies to a cooling rack to cool completely.
