Chocolate Chip Walnut Bars

Makes 24 bars

Chocolate Chip Walnut Bars make a great recipe for a dessert bar or anytime snack.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups organic light brown sugar

2/3 cup organic shortening

3 large organic eggs

2 2/3 cups ARROWHEAD MILLS Organic All-Purpose Flour

2 teaspoons organic baking powder

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

9 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup organic walnuts coarsely chopped

DIRECTIONS

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13x9x2-inch baking pan well.

2.Beat sugar and shortening. Add in eggs and beat into mixture.

3.In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt together, then sift into wet mixture and beat to blend. Add in chocolate chips and walnuts.

4.Spread batter in baking pan.

5.Bake 33 to 35 minutes.

6.Allow to cool and then cut into bars.
