The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree! Make & play this Mott’s Upcycled DIY Apple Game made from upcycled materials…a fun family craft from a partnership with Mott’s.

 

YOU’LL NEED

CRAYOLA Washable Paint

CRAYOLA Take Note Permanent Markers

CRAYOLA No-Run School Glue

CRAYOLA Mott’s DIY Apple Game Instructions

Disposable Plate

Mott’s Applesauce Pouches

Pencil

CRAYOLA Paint Brush

CRAYOLA Scissors

Mott’s Applesauce Cups

8 oz Mott’s Apple Juice Plastic Bottle

Upcycled Cardboard

Hook-and-Loop Fastener

 

DIRECTIONS

1.Pour equal parts yellow and brown paint onto disposable plate. Mix paint together with paint brush.

2.Cover 2 applesauce cups with paint to create apple baskets. Dry 1 to 2 hours. Add second coat. Dry 1 to 2 hours.

3.Draw seam around the center of baskets with marker.

4.Remove cap and label from apple juice bottle.

5.Cover bottle with brown paint to create tree trunk. Dry 1 to 2 hours. Add second coat. Dry 1 to 2 hours.

6.Remove caps from 10 applesauce pouches. Discard applesauce pouches.

7.Paint 5 caps red and 5 caps green to create apples. Dry 1 to 2 hours. Add second coat. Dry 1 to 2 hours.

8.Sketch tree outline with foliage approximately 5”H x 1”W and trunk approximately 7.5”H x 9.5”W on large piece of cardboard. Cut out.

9.Cut a slit on left and right of trunk approximately 1/2”H.

10.Paint foliage on tree. Dry 1 to 2 hours.

11.Glue 10 small hook-side pieces of hook-and-loop fastener to tree.

12.Glue small loop-side piece of hook-and-loop fastener to the bottom of each applesauce pouch cap. Let all glue steps dry 1 to 2 hours.

13.Place cardboard tree trunk into painted plastic bottle, fitting cardboard slits snugly against bottle neck.

14.Shape Model Magic 6-sided die. Dry overnight.

15.Write one of these values on each side of die with marker: X, +1, +1, -1, +2, -2
