Halloween’s the perfect time to make a monster out of slime! Should it be creepy, silly or strange? Whichever you pick, we’ll show you how to mix up this glittery, pom-pom-filled slime and decorate its jar to build your own terrifyingly cute creation!

PROJECT NOTES

-This project is intended for kids ages 4 and older.

-When you’re crafting with little ones, keep an eye on the pom-poms and sequins, since these may present a choking hazard.

-When making slime, protect your work surface with wax (or parchment) paper. You also may want to wear an apron (or other protective garment) to avoid slime-related accidents.

-Dip a craft stick into the icing color container, then mix the color into the glue, stirring thoroughly until it’s completely blended. Always use a new, clean craft stick when dipping into your food coloring, in order to avoid cross-contamination.

MONSTER JAR DIRECTIONS

YOU’LL NEED

Plastic Storage Jar by ARTMINDS, 8oz.

Multi-Surface Fine Tip Premium Paint Pen by CRAFT SMART, white

Multi-Surface Fine Tip Premium Paint Pen by CRAFT SMART, black

Multi-Surface Fine Tip Premium Paint Pen by CRAFT SMART, yellow paint pens

Colored Eye Stickers On A Roll by CREATOLOGY

1 piece of adhesive foam

CREATOLOGY Blunt Tip Scissors

Assorted Chenille Pipe Cleaners Value Pack by CREATOLOGY

Fashion Mini Glue Gun by ARTMINDS (adult supervision)

Mini Glue Sticks by ARTMINDS

DIRECTIONS

1.First, add a couple of cute eye stickers to the side of the jar, then use white and black paint pens to draw a mouth and terrifying teeth underneath. Don’t forget to draw in some furry details with a yellow paint pen (or any other color you like). Let the paint dry for a few minutes.

2.To cover the top of the jar, first turn it over and trace its lid onto the paper backing on a piece of adhesive foam. Cut out this foam circle, remove its backing and stick onto the lid, covering it completely.

3.Next, cut out a strip from the long side of the adhesive foam. (1″ – 1½” is great, but this measurement doesn’t have to be exact.) Cut triangles into one long side to create zigzags. Remove this foam piece’s backing and wrap it around the lid so that the zigzag is pointing downward.

3.This monster clearly needs horns! Wrap two contrasting chenille pipe cleaners together to create one thicker chenille pipe cleaner. Fold this chenille pipe cleaner in half and curl both halves around your finger or a pencil to make a spiral. Repeat this step to make a second horn.

4.ADULT: Have an adult hot glue a large sparkle pom right in between the two horns. Let the glue cool for a few seconds. Then the jar’s ready to be filled with slime.

5.Store your slime in your monster decorated jar!
