Holiday Ornament Cupcakes

From PILLSBURY BAKING

Makes 24 cupcakes

 

These ornaments might not go on the tree, but they sure are tasty! These are the perfect treats for the little ones to help decorate!

INGREDIENTS

1 cup PILLSBURY FUNFETTI Vibrant Green Vanilla Flavored Frosting

1 cup PILLSBURY FUNFETTI Radiant Red Vanilla Flavored Frosting

24 mini peanut butter cups

24 pieces of pretzel

1 package PILLSBURY MOIST SUPREME Devil’s Food Premium Cake Mix

1 cup water

1/2 cup Vegetable Oil

3 large eggs

1 container PILLSBURY CREAMY SUPREME White Frosting

24 mini candy canes for decoration, if desired

 

DIRECTIONS

1.Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line muffin cups with paper baking cups. Prepare cake mix according to package directions using water, oil, and eggs. Divide evenly into prepared muffin cups.


2.Bake 19 to 23 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.


3.Microwave white frosting in medium microwave-safe bowl on HIGH, 10 seconds at a time, stirring until melted and smooth. Dip top of cupcakes into frosting, turning to coat, allowing excess to drip off. Cool 10 minutes. Sprinkle immediately with candy bits from frosting.


4.Fit two decorating bags with small round tips. Fill one bag with green frosting and one with red frosting. Pipe red and green frostings to make dots, zigzags, or striped designs. Place peanut butter cup upside down on top of cupcake to form ornament top. Insert pretzel piece to form hook.
