These ornaments are fun and festive, but they’ll be so much better on a treat table instead of the tree! Get creative with your decoration to make the most festive cupcake ornaments this Christmas.
INGREDIENTS
Favorite vanilla cake mix or recipe (4-1/2 cups batter needed)
Creamy White Decorator Icing – 4 lb. Tub (3 cups needed)
Christmas Red Icing Color*
Red-Red Icing Color*
Kelly Green Icing Color*
Royal Blue Icing Color*
Metallic Cake Paint Set (silver color used)
Mini marshmallows (18 needed)

TIP: Combine Christmas Red and Red-Red icing colors to get bright red color shown. Combine Kelly Green and Royal Blue icing colors to get bright green color shown.
DIRECTIONS
1.Bake cupcakes. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool standard and mini cupcakes in cupcake liners.
2. For icing, tint 1 cup icing bright red and 1 cup icing bright green, using color combinations provided. Reserve remaining icing white.
3.Decorate cupcakes. Using spatula, ice standard and mini cupcakes smooth, forming rounded dome. Alternate between using bright red, bright green, and white icing.
4.Prepare three disposable decorating bags with couplers. Fill separately with remaining bright red, bright green, and white icing.
5.Using contrasting color, pipe lines and dots on cupcakes (standard cupcakes – tip 5; mini cupcakes – tip 3).
6.Using brush and silver metallic cake paint, paint 12 mini marshmallows silver. Using scissors, cut remaining mini marshmallows in half, then in half again. Paint silver. Let dry at least 2 minutes.
7.Attach mini marshmallows to standard cupcakes and the cut mini marshmallows to mini cupcakes.
