From JOANNS

YOU’LL NEED

Canvases – 4
Resin or wooden letters: LVE
Paints: red, blue, ivory
Brushes
Spray varnish
Rubber or acrylic stamp
Sponge
Old toothbrush
Aleene’s Tacky Glue
Saral
Stylus

DIRECTIONS

1. Paint canvases: 2 red, 1 blue, 1 ivory. When paint is dry, squeeze out ivory paint, dip sponge in paint, apply paint lightly to rubber stamp. Press onto canvas, reloading with paint as necessary. Apply blue design to the ivory canvas in the same manner. Scrub rubber stamp with old toothbrush under running water to clean.

2. Paint letters blue or red on the edges and ivory on the top. Spray with varnish if shine is desired. Glue to canvases.

3. Trace the heart design onto the ivory canvas (using Saral and a stylus), enlarging the design if desired. Paint, using the photo as a guide. To make stars, use the handle end of a brush to put a dot of paint on the blue field. Immediately, use the stylus to pull 5 small lines out from the dot, working the paint until you have the star design. “Float” blue paint around the edges of the heart to give it faux dimension.
