FOR THE DOG BED

YOU’LL NEED

Wooden/Furniture Small Dog Bed (unpainted)

Deco Art Vintage Effect Wash Paint: White

FolkArt Home Decor Chalk Finish Paint: Nautical

Wood glue

Sandpaper

Foam brush

Small paintbrush

DIRECTIONS

1.Assemble dog bed according to manufacturer’s instructions.

2.Paint bed white. Allow to dry.

3.Paint inside of cutout shapes in Nautical. Allow to dry.

4.Lightly distress bed using sandpaper.

FOR THE BED CUSHION COVER

YOU’LL NEED

1 yd calico fabric

16 1/2″x 22″x 2″ foam cushion

Sewing machine and basic sewing supplies

Iron and pressing surface

DIRECTIONS

1.Cut one 19 1/2″x 25″ rectangle and two 19 1/2″x 14″ rectangles from fabric.

2.Sew a 1/2″ hem along one of the 19 1/2″ sides of the 19 1/2″x 14″ rectangle. Repeat for second 19 1/2″x 14″ rectangle.

3.With right sides together, lay the 19 1/2″x 14″ rectangles on top of the 19 1/2″x 25″ rectangle. The 19 1/2″x 14″ rectangles will overlap each other in the center. The hemmed edges should be in the center.

4.Sew around the outside of the layered pieces with a 1/2″ seam allowance.

5.Press seams open.

6.Create 2″ boxed corners on all 4 corners.

7.Turn right side out.

8.Place foam cushion in cushion cover.

TIP: Add to the set by making a wooden dog bowl stand to match!
