DIRECTIONS

.Lay six jumbo craft sticks, side by side, with the tops and bottoms aligned. Glue a craft stick across the sticks, making sure to cover all of the sticks.

TIP: Adult can use a hot glue gun to speed up the drying process.

.Turn the sticks over. Glue another jumbo craft stick about 1 1/2“ from the top in a slight diagonal to create the area for the scarecrow’s hat.

.Paint the hat portion using pumpkin paint. Paint the diagonal craft stick as well. Let dry.

.Glue two wiggle eyes onto the scarecrows face.

.Cut a small triable from orange sticky-back foam and adhere it to the face for a nose.

.Draw a mouth onto the scarecrows face using the black paint pen. Let dry.

.To make the flower for the scarecrow’s hat, wrap yellow yarn around your hand about 25 times. Gently slide the yarn off of your hand and tie a small piece of yarn around the middle of the loops. Spread the loops around to create a circular “flower”. Glue a black pom-pom to the center of the flower, then glue the flower onto the scarecrow’s hat.

.To make the scarecrow’s hair, wrap yellow yarn around your hand about 10 times. Slide it off of your hand, then wrap a small piece of yarn around one end. Cut open the loops on the opposite end. Make two of these, then glue the knot to the back of the sticks just under the bottom of the hat. You can trim the yarn to the length you want once it’s attached.

.Add details to the hat using the black paint pen, if desired. Let dry.
