Brownie Lava Cake

Makes 10 individual cakes

Lava cake lovers rejoice! This quick and easy lava cake recipe has a brownie base and a molten center of HERSHEY’S KISSES lava cake chocolate candies. Imagine all the chocolaty goodness oozing out of these individual cakes during birthday parties and date nights. What’s awesome about this lava cake recipe is that you can make the treats in advance, then quickly microwave them before serving! Have some extra HERSHEY’S KISSES on hand for extra deliciousness and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an even sweet combination.

 

INGREDIENTS

30 HERSHEY’S KISSES Brand Lava Cake Dark Chocolate Candies
1 cup butter or margarine (2 sticks)
1/2 cup HERSHEY’S Cocoa
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour

 

DIRECTIONS

1.Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and sugar 10 (4 oz) ramekins or custard cups. Remove wrappers from candies; set aside.

2.Place butter in large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at High (100%) 1 1/2 minutes or until melted. Add cocoa; stir until smooth. Add brown sugar and granulated sugar; stir with spoon until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well with spoon. Add flour; stir until well blended.

3.Fill prepared cups about 2/3 full of batter. Push points of 3 chocolates about halfway into batter.

4.Bake 22 to 25 minutes or until outer cake portion springs back when lightly touched with finger (Cake may still appear moist where chocolates were added). Cool in cups on wire rack about 5 minutes.

5.To serve, run knife around outer edge of cake; invert onto serving plate. Garnish as desired.

Make ahead directions: Cakes can be baked up to a day ahead. Bake and remove cakes from ramekins. Cover; store at room temperature. To serve, place on microwave-safe plate; microwave at High (100%) 15 seconds or until warm.
