Chocolate Chip Cookies

Makes 36 cookies

A chocolate chip cookie with a hometown flavor.

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups MARTHA WHITE All-Purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 (6-ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1/2 cup chopped pecans

DIRECTIONS
1.Heat oven to 375 degrees. Spray large baking sheet with nonstick spray.

2.Beat butter and sugars together in mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and beat well.

3.Whisk together flour, salt, and soda. Blend into creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate morsels and pecans. Drop by level tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet.

4.Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on pan 2 to 3 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
