Turtle Suncatcher

Turtley awesome! Shell-ebrate HAPPY PETZ Month and make a suncatcher with this melted crayon turtle craft.

NOTE: This craft includes the use of a hair dryer. Adult assistance required.

YOU’LL NEED

CRAYOLA Crayons

CRAYOLA Construction Paper

CRAYOLA Glue Stick

Crayon or Pencil Sharpener

Duct Tape

Wiggle Eyes

CRAYOLA Scissors

CRAYOLA No. 2 Pencil

CRAYOLA Markers

Wax Paper

Hair Dryer

DIRECTIONS

1.Unwrap 2–3 crayons, then use crayon sharpener to create shavings.

2.Lay piece of wax paper on protected surface. Evenly sprinkle shavings onto wax paper.

3.Place slightly larger piece of wax paper overtop. Seal edges with duct tape.

4.With the help of an adult, use hair dryer to melt shavings. Let cool 15 minutes.

5.Cut circle out of wax paper.

6.Sketch and cut out construction paper head, legs, and tail.

7.Glue head, legs, and tail to wax paper.

8.Flip wax paper over. Glue wiggle eyes to head.

9.Draw details with markers for an ex-shell-ent turtle sun catcher!

TIP: A pencil sharpener will work if you don’t have a crayon sharpener on hand.
