2 Balls – Navy

3 Balls – Teal

FOR A LARGE BED (approximately 32” diameter)

3 Balls – Navy

4 Balls – Teal

GAUGE: 8 sc and 8 rows = 4″ [10 cm] with 2 strands of yarn held tog.

Bottom (make 1 each with A and B):

With 2 strands of yarn, ch 2.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st in first sc. 12 sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st in first sc. 18 sc.
Rnd 4: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st in first sc. 24 sc.
Rnd 5: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st in first sc. 30 sc.
Rnd 6: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st in first sc. 36 sc.
Rnd 7: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 5 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st in first sc. 42 sc.

Cont in same manner, inc 6 sts every rnd, until work measures approx 20 (32)” [51 (81.5) cm] in diameter. Fasten off Base A.

Place WS of Bases A and B tog, having B as outer piece (do not fasten off Base B).

Joining Rnd: With B, working through both thicknesses, work 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc.

Next Rnd: Ch 1. Working into back loops only, 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st in first sc.

Next Rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st in first sc.

Rep last rnd until work from joining rnd measures 4″ [10 cm].

Ears: PM on center front st.

Rnd 1: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to 6 sc before marked sc. *Skip next 2 sc. 8 tr in next sc. Skip next 2 sc.* 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Rep from * to * once more. 1 sc in each sc to end of rnd. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Use hot glue to attach two wiggle eyes in place on the front of your pet bed, evenly spaced below the ears. Then, with black yarn, embroider whiskers and nose.
