- Wearing gloves, mix 1/2 cup of well-shaken Cherry Red All-Purpose Dye with 2 quarts of very hot water in a container, and stir well. In another container, mix 1/2 cup of Navy Blue All-Purpose Dye with 2 quarts of very hot water.
- Carefully immerse the top third of the shirt into the Cherry Red dye-bath.
- Immerse the bottom third of the shirt into the Navy Blue dye-bath.
- Following instructions on package, use Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative after dyeing and before washing to enhance the color, increase color retention and prevent dye from bleeding into white areas.
- Rinse in cool water until water runs clear.
- Cut away rubber bands and unfold shirt to reveal pattern.
- Hand wash in warm water with mild detergent, rinse and dry.
